This simple recipe is the perfect start to any busy morning — it feeds the whole family and each slice is easily customizable with your favorite toppings.⁠ We love this recipe because in under 30 minutes you can have a healthy and delcious meal to feed everyone in the house.

We served it with slices of banana and maple syrup, but berries or honey can work too.

Brown Sugar Baked Oatmeal
Old Fashioned Oats 2 cups
Light Brown Sugar 1/3 cup
Cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder 1 tsp
Kosher Salt 1/4 tsp
Whole Milk 1 1/2 cups
Unsweetened Applesauce 1/2 cup
Egg 1 each
Butter 2 tbsp
Vanilla Extract 1 tsp

 

 
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
 
2. In a large bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
 
3. In a medium bowl, combine the milk, applesauce, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Add the milk mixture to the oat mixture; stir well.
 
4. Pour the oatmeal mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until the oatmeal is set and golden brown. Top with berries, bananas, honey, or maple syrup.
