Blackberry Basil Mixer

1. Make a blackberry puree: Place blackberries in the bowl of a food processor; process until pureed. Set aside. Or - skip this step completely and buy premade blackberry puree at the grocery store.
2. Make a basil simple syrup: heat 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in a small saucepot. Bring to a boil, stir until sugar dissolves, then turn off the heat and add basil - let steep for 15-30 minutes. Strain basil out of the simple syrup and set aside.
3. Add puree, simple syrup, lime juice, 1 cup water, and salt to a pitcher and stir to combine.
4. Serve as a mocktail over ice or make a cocktail with your favorite bourbon! (Try other liquors as well, but this is our personal favorite pairing).
